Most of my patterns make great 2-4 hour classes for beginners and experienced quilters alike. The projects are great for quilt retreats and guild classes. Teaching guidelines and Student Handouts are available for almost all patterns. I am available to personally teach classes in the San Francisco Bay area. I am able to travel to more distant locations to teach if several shops or guilds can schedule classes together. Please contact me at info@quilterbynight.com for more information or to schedule a class.

Teaching Guidelines and Student Handouts
Teaching guidelines and student handouts (pre-class preparation, supply list, etc.) are available for free to shops or guilds purchasing patterns from me. The information is provided in PDF file format, e-mailed to you upon request. Shops and guilds have permission to copy and distribute Student Handouts for distribution to class participants.

In this class you'll make just three easy units using three different techniques for your center blocks. One unit is made using easy paper-piecing for accuracy, one is made using strip-piecing techniques, and one is made using a fast-flying geese method. Have fun playing with the arrangement of the units to create our own unique block designs and learn how to set them on-point with patchy setting triangles and sashing in between. We will also talk about how to fussy-cut blocks from whole cloth to make a quick and easy version of this table runner.

Bring the feeling of that cozy corner Italian restaurant home and create your own, "Pasta Night", with these placemats and table runners. We will explore quick strip piecing techniques on a micro-level to create the center red and white check. The three panels go together quickly with a handsome piping accent. The placemats are sewn together and turned without binding. We will explore free-motion quilting and free ourselves from anxiety as we practice (and then quilt) the grape-vine and swirly grapes motif on the red and green panels using our favorite varigated threads - just for fun.
